Overdue Birthday Loot Post

This year I was blessed to get crafty presents for my birthday! A gift card to HAED and some spendy cash yielded more stash.

Carnival Moon by Aimee Stewart
QS Lancelot and Guinever by Aimee Stewart
Coming to Room by Jan Patrik Krasny
Mini the Magic Grotto by Aimee Stewart
Most of these are smaller and should stitch up reasonably fast for a HAED, with the exception of Coming to Room, which is huge, almost supersized. But look at it! It reminds me of books I used to read as a kid, paintings coming alive and fantastical artifacts.

I was gifted an awesome mug cozy by my niece, who has picked up crocheting with glee.

I picked out some dark hand dyed fabric for Imagination Unleashed. I have some variegated rainbow threads that I plan on using for this. I'm also considering adding beads once all the stitching is complete.

My folks sent me a box of coconut candy, some useful tools, and a handmade card (a specialty of my mother's.)

Its been given a place of honor next to my stuffed animals collection. The crocheted hedgehog was also a present my mom made for me last year.

The rest of the birthday money I'm adding to my savings to replace my sewing machine. I have one picked out, I just need to work enough overtime to make up the difference.

Next month is Solo September, hosted by Justine@Justine's Cross Stitch. I'm planning on participating with a quilt this time, but I have to pick which quilt! I made a list and there are sooooo many this time. The idea is that its a casual SAL where you concentrate on one project for the month. I'll be going rogue with a quilt project, as most of the participants are avid cross stitchers. It starts on September 1st so look for an initial start post then.

  2. You got some lovely charts, they remind me of book illustrations too. So cool to have a quilt in Solo September. I hope you'll post some updates as I would love to see it coming together.
