I was getting tired of working on the mini's, so I have been making progress on The Castle by Teresa Wentzler. I've spent a little time this week filling in the little gaps and working on the backstitching.

Last night after Dagorhir "practice" i.e. social time since it was too cold to practice, I made the hood for my capelet.
I did stitch it onto the capelet...BUT... the neckline on the capelet was a little too large and so I ripped off the hood and I'll have to gather the neckline a little bit to make it all fit. Here is an approximation of how it will look when done.
I have some vacation time coming up. Over the remaining six weeks of the year, only two are full weeks of work. (YAY!) I'm looking forward to having some dedicated crafty time. I'd like to catch up on a little housework this week so that I can relax and enjoy my vacation.
Only 11 Days until Turkey Day! Linking up to Slow Stitching Sunday @ Kathy's Quilts
Your cross-stitch is beautiful. Those colors are so vibrant. Good luck with the capelet. Enjoy all the stitching time!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how much dimension the back stitching adds. Enjoy your time off work and get lots done!
ReplyDeleteAn amazing stitchery project!
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love your dragon and castle.
ReplyDeleteI had to look up the word Dagohrir! Interesting. And what do you wear with the capelet?
Kaelyn you are doing an amazing job on your dragon and castle!
ReplyDeleteThe capelet looks really neat - like it is already old. What kind of fabric did you use to get that look?
What a fabulous piece of stitching! I will look with interest to see it grow!
ReplyDeletePS the back stitching really gives it depth!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a difference between the two pictures. The backstitching really adds dimension to the piece. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous design Kaelyn. You have made wonderful progress. I love designs with backstitching.

The back stitching rally adds lots of definition to your cross stitch project! Happy stitching to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning piece! I stitched a TW castle about 20 years ago and still love it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all fronts -- your progress is inspiring... though you are making me want to track down my copy of that dragon and stitch it-- that would be bad because I have no time! argh.
