Slow Stitching Sunday and May YOTA

I'm linking this up to both Slow Stitching Sunday@Kathy's Quilts and May YOTA@Pull the Other Thread.

This month I've been working on Innocence and Butterfly Profusion

Innocence Before

Innocence After
I've actually made it onto the second page of Innocence at the top row, which makes it the furthest I've ever gotten with a HAED at about 2000 stitches.

Butterfly Profusion Before
Butterfly Profusion After
Now I'm almost done with the 6th butterfly and it feels like I'm in the home stretch - a little deceptive with all the back stitching and half stitches that need to be completed.

As a side note, if anyone has any good home remedies for a chronic cough and reoccuring cold, I'd be thrilled to try them. I picked up a cold about a month ago and haven't quite been able to shake the cough - and now I think I have another cold, or at the very least a nasty sinus infection.

  1. It has been a bad year for colds. They seem to linger forever. What helped us was real fruit juice....the thick like smoothie thick REAL not from concentrate. It is packed with goodness.Or tea with honey. Hope this helps. Love the butterflies, stitching is such a slow process. I use to do lots of it then realized quilting was much faster!!

  5. Homemade chicken soup is always a good cure. Lots of liquids and then lycol or chlorox wipes on all light switches, phones, remotes, door handles, etc. Air out the house if you can - all windows open for a good 20-30 minutes. That is what I do to get rid of the germs and get over a cold that wants to keep coming back. Good luck and enjoy some relaxing stitches on your beautiful butterfly's. Feel better.

The above recipe sounds like what my daughter cooked up for me one day when I all of a sudden came down with a terribly stuffed head. Boy did it do the trick. Drink it all and drink it while it's warm. No whiskey though. You can use it if you want . . . makes me squirrelly though. Hope this helps!

  9. Beautiful progress, Kaelyn :-) I'm so sorry you've been dealing with the cough and cold. I hope you feel better soon. Honey and Mucinex have always helped my colds and coughs.

  10. You have very nice progress on both pieces! :-) I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. Dad gave me whiskey and apple cider one time when I was dealing with a really bad cold, and it seemed to help.
