Welcome to my Daily Progress Update page for

February 1

Oh boy, no pictures to show today. I spent about half an hour fighting with my printer to get my AoTH pattern resized and mirror imaged, twenty minutes cutting out the pieces for the block, and another hour looking for the stabilizer I had purchased for this quilt. I found it eventually. I had put it away. Go figure.

February 2

Snow Day! We got about 13 inches here overnight and my company shut down for the day. I'm very glad for it, because I can't get out of my driveway right now without a couple hours of work and my street is still snowed in. This day will probably make up for any days that I happen to miss during the month. Today I cut out the pieced two AoTH quilt blocks.

February 3

No stitching today. It was time to settle in a deal with my income tax return. Ugh.

February 4

Today, I worked on my embroidered elm leaves for my ranger hood. I have 22 completed, 14 ready to cut out, and 30 more that I need to make. Because I just can't ever do things the easy way!

February 5

Cross stitch night! Fall fairy grew a hand and an arm.

February 6

Two hours spent learning about my embroidery machine and different techniques for aligning embroidery patterns. AND!!! experimenting with a couple different embroidery software demo versions. Nope, still haven't decided which one I want to sink buku bucks into eventually. The cost alone is making me indecisive to the point where I may never purchase any!

February 7 - 9

I started quilting a flimsy that I have had laying around for a while. I love my new Machinger's gloves! They make quilting so much easier, I'm not constantly trying to keep a good grip on the quilt because the fingertips are rubberized. I was very surprised at how much they help. UPDATE: I've been working on this all weekend and I finished the quilting tonight (2/9). I am planning on doing the binding tomorrow.

February 10

Tossed a project in the trash that I hated and started a new one that I love. Curiosity by Janlynn, or as I have taken to calling it, Library Kittens!

February 11

I made the binding for the Hugs and Kisses Quilt and started sewing it on.

February 12
Library Cats update!

February 13

"Hug's and Kisses" is finished and in the washer!

February 14

AoTH Block 29 cut and fused.

February 15

Two more AoTH blocks fused!

February 16

Two hours spent with the ladies from church, teaching them to make quilt blocks!

February 17

Cross stitch night!

February 18

A little cross stitch while waiting for Bible Study to start.

February 19

Jack's shirt is half put together but I can't find the other sleeve... and I **know** that I cut it out. So annoyed, but I moved onto something else until it turns up.

February 20 - 22

More work on my Penrose Square Quilt.

February 23

Library Kittens Update

February 24

Finished quilting the Penrose Square Quilt. It still needs binding, photos to follow later.

February 25

Jack's birthday was today - he wanted to watch John Wick, so that is what we did! An evening well spent.

February 26

Wrote and published a tutorial on how to make a Penrose Square quilt block using a partial seams method.

February 27

Stitching in the evening while watching Hawaii 5-O (the new version, with Mick St. John from Moonlight and Tumbler from Gone in Sixty Seconds). I also spent a couple hours evaluating embroidery machine software and with Jack's help have decided to purchase Embird. I also took the time to split the thread for Library Kittens into little thread bags, my new favorite project thread storage solution. It was becoming a tangled mess and I'm only about an tenth of the way through this pattern.

February 28

A FINISH!!!
