02/01
Added borders to Rustic Half Square Triangle Quilt
02/02
Worked on Scrappy Stars Quilt. Laid out, pressed, and trimmed supplemental blocks. I should have ten complete stars here, I'm not sure what happened to the two and a half centers that are missing.
02/03
Finished pressing and trimming Scrappy Stars blocks. Discovered that I am definitely short 2.5 blocks. I will have to make more HSTs now. Its not a big deal, except that I thought I was already done with these.
02/04
Added two rows to my blue kaleidoscope quilt. This is about halfway together now.
02/05
I cut out a the colored squares for the last few stars.
02/06
I was dreading working on those stars so I put them all away and started on my Halloween twister quilt! I wasn't very happy with the weird layout I designed a while back so I went back to my original plan. I also spent a lot of time cleaning up my sewing room, a slow and tedious multi-week process. I think I'm finally getting somewhere. I was able to pull out the vacuum cleaner today!
02/07 - 02/09
I've been working on quilting my Rustic HST Quilt - and also sneaking in some cross stitch time during the Olympics! I think that the quilt is about 3/4 done now.
02/10
I didn't sew a stitch today, but I am doing research and starting to draft a pattern for a sewing machine cover. I will need to make one for both my sewing machine
and my serger.
02/11
Today, I finished the quilting on the Rustic HST quilt! Just binding to go now.
Also, we had a really boring two hour meeting today at work and I spent most of it fiddling with a new way to make a quilt block. I think I can strip piece it. So I kind of did double duty quilt-wise today. The meeting wasn't a complete waste!
02/12
I gave a sewing machine lesson to my little cousin today!
02/13
Rustic HST Binding, done.
02/14
Took the day off.
02/15
Machine stitched the yellow binding to the HST quilt. Then it went into my hand stitching pile by the couch for TV time.
02/16
Started hand stitching the binding! Also, I made my first Aiming for Accuracy Block. Which turned out to be not that accurate. It is too small by 1/8" in both directions.
02/17
More kaleidoscope rows added!
02/18
I spent my quilting time today playing around with Medallion quilts in E7. I really like the ones that look like Italian tiles.
02/19
Shopping with my cousin for her first sewing project!
02/20
More rows put on the kaleidoscope quilt and more work done on the binding for HST.
02/21
More medallion quilt design work going on here! I'm trying not to start one of these until I get at least one current project done.
02/22
Finished the kaleidoscope quilt top!
02/23 - 02/25
Life is crazy, didn't even have 20 minutes on these days. Tomorrow isn't looking so hot either.
02/26
Sewing lessons with Madelynn tonight!
02/27
I did a lot of cleaning in my sewing room, got the table for my serger set up, and finished another Aiming For Accuracy block.
02/28
Made plans to make myself a new purse. Happy DaGMT Everyone!
I like your star layout! So frustrating to be cruising along and then realize you're short... but I bet with your daily commitment you'll bang out the others in no time. This is the first I've heard of the DGMT challenge, but if you have another ten minutes a day, you should come join me for my 30/30 Sewing Challenge in March! Glad I came across you at Bee Social : )
ReplyDeleteThose borders look great framing the Rustic Half Square Triangle Quilt. Love the colourful stars in your second wip. That kaleidoscope quilt is stunning! Great progress!
ReplyDeleteI agree...love that kaleidoscope especially. (Also glad to know I'm not the only one with more than one project going on!) Stop by: myplvl.blogspot.com and if ya like what ya see...become a GFC follower. :)
ReplyDeleteyou're doing great so far this month. I think about sewing in the evening but I don;'t get home from work until about 7 and I just can't be bothered!
ReplyDeleteAll of your tops are wonderful! You may have just given me the inspiration I needed for my nephew's quilt with the half square triangle quilt! YAY thanks!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I like the borders on your HST quilt. I am also intrigued by that little peek of star points next to your kaleidoscope quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteThat kaleidoscope quilt is lovely. What fabric did you start with?
