 About This Blog

This blog has transitioned from a group-wide crafty blog to Kaelyn's Quilt Blog and is now a catch-all for anything creative and/or edju-ma-ka-shun-null that I deem worthy of my time and effort. Pretty much, you never know what you're going to find here, although you might be able to make a reasonable guess.

  1. Kaelyn, you are a noreply blogger so I am having difficulty contacting you. You asked about the cross-stitch I am working on. It is the Baker Beach, San Francisco by Artecy. You can find it at http://www.artecyshop.com/ . It is the pattern only. This is for my son who is studying at Stanford. They have a whole lot of beautiful landscapes. I also bought a beach scene to make for my daughter.

  2. Kaelyn,

I came across your marine corps quilt and fell in love. My nephew is graduating from marine corps boot camp on Sept. 11, 2015. I would like to make this quilt for him. I tried to go to the tutorial, but the link was no longer valid. I was able to find a crossroads quilt block pattern online, but it only makes a 6-1/2" block. I would like to make a bigger block like you made. I have purchased a marine corps emblem to go in the center like you used. I was wondering if you would be willing to share the dimensions of each piece for the crossroad block you came up with? I am going to sign up to follow you by email. Hopefully you will reply. Thank you Denise Jackson

    1. Congratulations to your nephew! I have posted a very rough tutorial here: http://kaelynscreativestudio.blogspot.com/2015/09/marine-corp-quilt.html and I hope you get to see it. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    2. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I am absolutely astounded at your offer. I would be honored to complete this beautiful quilt that you started for your brother before his unfortunate medical discharge. Hopefully your brother will take comfort in knowing that it is being finished for a budding marine. I know that you have put your heart and soul into this project and you can rest assured that I will do the same. The tears I am right now are tears of gratitude. I am trying to make a quilt for all my immediate family members and their children on a struggling high school teacher's pay. I do not sell my quilts; they are given strictly as an expression of love. I can't wait to finish your quilt and will include you on the label as a sister contributing to the effort through your generosity and love. I thought you would be able to get my email from when I signed up on your site to follow you by email. Let me know what you would like me to do so you can contact me. I just didn't want to publicly post my email address, but will if that is what you need me to do. I will be anxiously watching your post to me like you posted yesterday. I am beyond excited! Thank you so much! May God bless you and your family.
